Alejandro "Alex" Urias
November 28, 1974 - May 6, 2026

Alejandro "Alex" Urias, 51, was called home to Heaven on May 6, 2026, surrounded by the deep and unwavering love of his family. Born on November 28, 1974, Alex lived a life that was truly a gift-a life defined by faith, compassion, strength and unconditional love that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Genaro Urias; his two sons, Jamil and Diego, their mother Brenda; his brother, Gabriel; his sisters, Monica and Rebeca, all of his nieces and nephews and his godchildren. As well as a large extended family and countless friends-each carrying a piece of his love within them.

There are individuals that walk this earth-souls who pass through life, and then there are souls like Alex. Whose presence reflects something greater. Something God-sent.

His family believes God lent them a piece of Heaven when He sent Alex into their lives. His purpose was evident. To love, to accept, and to remind us what it means to live with a pure heart.

Alex's faith in God was personal but deeply rooted. It guided him, strengthened him, and carried him through his adversities and most challenging seasons of his life. During his illness, he walked with a grace that reflected his faith-choosing peace and love, even when life was not easy.

Those who spent time with Alex, were given beautiful, unforgettable moments filled with laughter, warmth, and a sense peace that made you feel safe just being near him. A comfort that cannot easily be explained. His spirit reflected a genuine kindness that made others feel valued and understood.

Alex's safe space was spending time with his two sons, all of his nieces and nephews, his godchildren, and all of the children who gravitated towards his playful and gentle nature. He loved being with them, and they will carry his love with them always, and be guided by the angel he has become.

He found happiness in movies, theater, culinary arts and in music that moved the soul. He danced without hesitation and encouraged those around him to dance with out a care in the world. His love for sports made him a devoted coach and a life long fan of the New York Yankees-carrying that pride and loyalty everywhere he went.

But one of the places he felt most like himself was with his "Magic" family. Playing Magic The Gathering wasn't just a hobby-it was a brotherhood, a space where he could laugh, connect, and simply be Alex. Those moments, those friendships, meant the world to him.

To have known Alex was to experience something rare and real. He lived with intention. He approached each day fully present, embracing every moment he spent with family and friends as a gift. He remained authentic-steadfast, selfless, and full of light.

Even in his hardest battles, Alex chose love over fear. He never wanted to burden others or be treated differently. He remained unapologetically himself-loving, resilient, charismatic, honorable, influential and full of joy.

That was his strength.
That was his grace.

His legacy lives on in his sons, his family, and in all of us-in the way we choose to love more deeply, judge less, and hold one another closer.

Because love like Alex's doesn't leave.

It transforms.
And it stays in our hearts forever.

His Beloved mother Yolanda Urias, has welcomed him home. With her angel wings wrapped around him, she will always keep him safe and protected.

He will be deeply missed , endlessly loved, and forever remembered
