Arlene Mary Dalton, 89 years of age, passed on February 24, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family.
Arlene was born December 6, 1934 in Derry, New Hampshire to the late Walter and Mary Putney. She had two sisters, Joann and Marleen, who preceded her in death.
Arlene dedicated her life to Christ and the Catholic Church at a young age. She was devout in her work within the Nativity Catholic Church of Longwood. She served her community as a guardian ad litem advocate for children in Seminole county.
Arlene married the late Navy Master Chief Harry Dalton Jr. in 1953 and six children were born from this union. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and dog, Bella, gardening, doing puzzles, cooking, reading, talking politics, and sewing. Arlene will be remembered for her ceaseless compassion, integrity, resilience, faithfulness, and strength.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Harry Dalton Jr., son Bruce Dalton, daughter Diane Clark, grandson Nicolas Olrich, and granddaughter Molly Rose Dalton. She is survived by her children Alan Dalton, Gary Dalton, Ann Dalton, and Teresa Olrich; grandchildren Nichole Clark, Andrea Frank, Brandy Loos, Brian Dalton, Holly Ward, Jordan Dalton, Ashley Dalton, and Hannah Dalton; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Borak, Artimus Olrich, Braelyn Ward, Abigail Ward, Makayla Dalton, Daisy Loos, Trevor Clark, Emma Merkel and Emerson Dalton.
A viewing and service will be held at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 East Semeron Blvd. Apopka, FL 32703 on Friday, March 1 at 3-5pm. A tentative Catholic mass in her honor will be held at a later date at Nativity Catholic Church.
