Charles Arthur Lavallee, 78, of Altamonte Springs was called home to heaven Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Charles was born June 24, 1943 in Rutland, VT to Harold Charles and Mary Jane (Powers) Lavallee. He was the third
of five children born to this union. Charles was a graduate of Fort Knox High School in Fort Knox, Kentucky
class of 1963. In 1964 Charles joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Saint Paul as a Culinary Specialist Third Class
during the Vietnam War. In 1967 Charles left the Navy and married his first wife Deborah Shaffer; to this union two
children were born, Patricia and Timothy. Charles began cross country truck driving, and would continue to drive
for the next 37 years. Charles loved seeing the country and would always share stories of this time in his life.
While truck driving Charles met his second wife Trish Arnall; to this union two children were born,
Casie and Cory.
After a heart attack in 2004, Charles made the painful decision to retire from truck driving and move to Central
Florida. Charles began working at the West Town Corners Wal-Mart in Altamonte Springs in the garden and automotive
departments, and would stay there for the next 5 years before retiring. While working there, Charles met Paula McVey, and they would
remain together for the next 17 years until his passing.
Charles enjoyed reading mystery novels, doing puzzles, fishing, golfing, watching movies (especially Kung Fu) and
spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his beloved companion Paula; their children, Patricia, Jackie, Timothy & wife Amber, Angie & husband Scott, Crystal & husband Bill, Casie, Paul & wife Liz, Cory & wife Bethany; grandchildren Katherine & husband David, Anthony,
Matthew & wife Courtney, Tiara, Andrew & wife Courtnie, Junior, Caelen, Jessica, Oliv, Beatrix, Ronan, and Rosamund; great-grandson Breaden; sisters Barbara, Diane, Sue & husband Paul; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Harold & Mary, brother James, and great-grandson Desmond.
