Edward W. Lewis
December 18, 1943 - February 21, 2026
Edward Lewis, age 82, passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, deep devotion to family, and a well-timed one-liner that could catch you off guard.
Born on December 18, 1943, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Edward eventually made Florida his home, where he lived for nearly 35 years. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Donna, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage - a partnership built on commitment, loyalty, and steady love.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service - a reflection of both his courage and sacrifice. Though he rarely sought recognition, his strength and dedication were evident in all he did. A military memorial will be held at a later date to honor his service.
After his time in the Army, Edward built a career as an accountant, bringing diligence and integrity to his work. He had a sharp mind, an appreciation for history, especially World War II, and a love of traveling which he shared with Donna and their daughter, Jennifer.
More than anything, Edward loved his family. In November of 2023, he proudly walked his daughter, Jennifer, down the aisle, welcoming Kyle into the family as his son-in-law. In December of 2025, he became a grandfather to Weston - named in honor of Edward and Edward's father - a moment that brought him immense joy. Becoming "Grandpa" was a title he carried with tremendous pride.
Edward was known for being reserved, but always ready with a clever joke or witty comment. He had a soft spot for the family dogs - though he would never have admitted it outright. His love was often shown in steady presence rather than grand gestures, but it was unwavering and deeply felt.
Edward's life was one of service - to his country and, most importantly, to his family. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in believing that Edward is now at peace
He will be remembered as a loyal husband, a proud father and grandfather, a decorated veteran, and a man whose quiet strength spoke volumes.
