Edwina Feldmann

Edwina Burns Feldmann, 78, of Mailtand, FL, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2025. Born on January 14, 1947 in Utica, NY to Edward Burns and Luella Kaelin Burns. She had three older sisters, Jean Davis, Karen Joswick and Joan Carpenter.

She attended Oswego University and earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She then went on to earn her Masters in education at SUNY Cortland. On August 12, 1972 she married the love of her life, Gary Feldmann. On May 1,1980 they had one daughter, Megan.

Edwina had a wonderful career as an elementary school teacher for 31 years. She taught at Jamesville Dewitt elementary schools and middle school. She was loved by all of the students who's lives she touched. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She was very close to her daughter Megan who was also her best friend. Edwina's love for children continued when she became a proud grandma to the foster children that came into her daughters home. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will leave a huge hole in their hearts.

She is predeceased by her husband Gary Feldmann, her parents Luella K. Burns and Edward Burns, and her sister Jean Davis of Waterville, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Megan Feldmann of Maitland, FL. Her sister Joan Carpenter, of Apopka, FL, and her sister Karen Joswick of Utica, NY. She has many nieces and nephews whom she was very close to as well as many cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on October 25, 2025 at Highland Funeral Home located at 3329 E. Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL from 4-6pm.
