Eric Eleazar Timothy was born in Bethel, Tobago, on May 17, 1930, to the late Evan Leopold and Jane Timothy. He was one of nine siblings and grew up in a loving, faith-centered household. After attending Caribbean Union College (now University of the Southern Caribbean), Eric migrated to Queens, New York, in the 1960s, where he began a new life of purpose and service.
A long-standing member of the Hanson Place Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brooklyn, Eric served faithfully as a Sabbath School teacher, Elder, Stewardship Leader, choir member, and more. It was there he met and married Carmen Minerva Harriott in 1967. Together, they raised two sons, Wendell and Chandler, instilling in them strong Christian values.
Eric worked diligently throughout his life-as a blood bank technician, realtor, and later as a science teacher after earning a degree from Brooklyn College in 1996. In 2001, he and Carmen retired to Apopka, Florida, where he enjoyed gardening, singing, and serving at the North Orlando SDA Church.
A man of deep faith and service, Eric participated in missionary work in South America and sang for 15 years with the Messiah Choral Society in Orlando. Music, fellowship, and worship were central to his life-especially treasured during Sabbath gatherings with family and friends.
He celebrated his 95th birthday surrounded by loved ones in joyful song. Shortly after, he fell ill and passed peacefully, comforted by family and friends. He expressed readiness for his eternal home, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.
