Frank Robert (Bob) Zaffis Jr. passed away on February 28, 2026 at the age of 87. He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 15, 1938 to his parents Frank Robert Zaffis Sr. and Anne Stec Zaffis (RIP).

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Erin Kathleen Zaffis. He leaves behind his grieving wife of 68 years, Teresa (Terri) Bogan Zaffis with whom he shared treasured times on the water in their boats, on the road in their RV and even square dancing! He also leaves behind his beloved daughter, Ellen Zaffis, who blessed him with two beautiful grandsons, Frank Robert Zaffis III and Zakary Alexander Zaffis – both boys being the absolute light of his life. Additionally, Bob is survived by his only sibling, his brother Jerry, his wife Beth, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless other family members. Bob loved his family dearly and will be terribly missed.

After starting in the trucking industry in his early teens working in the truck yard with his uncle learning maintenance skills, he learned the ropes and started driving as a very young man, working tirelessly and became the successful small business owner of Zaffis Enterprises with several trucks on the road at any given time and was very proud of the fact that he had never been in an accident. Terri finally convinced Bob to retire at the age of 82.

Bob loved anything with a motor! He was an avid Nascar fan and was always working on or cleaning and shining his cars and trucks – he’d either have a tool, hose or shammy in his hand.

Bob had a heart of gold and rarely let an opportunity pass if he thought he could help – a meal, a job or whatever was needed. Even Bob and Terri’s home has been a haven for those in need as they have hosted countless people over the years whether it was a family member, a friend or an acquaintance Bob had met. He was just that kind of guy.

You will be forever missed ...
