Obituary for Gerald Allen “Gary” Taylor
Gerald Allen Taylor, known to many as Gary, age 88, of Longwood, Florida, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Highlands Funeral Home on January 13 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Gary was born on December 30, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from the Municipal University of Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Accounting. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant, he spent 34 years with Andersen Consulting, which would later become Accenture.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Susie Taylor, and his brother, Gene Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Taylor; his children June Gilmore, Jill Mahramus (John), and Nancy Wendland (Rob); his six grandchildren Kaitlyn, Andrew, Nick, Jack, Danielle, and Chris; and his three great grandchildren Peirce, Elle, and Jett.
Gary enjoyed playing golf, reading, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his unwavering support, generosity, deep love for his family, and his remarkable navigational skills. He had a lifelong passion for travel and photography, exploring much of Europe, Asia, and Oceania during his career with Andersen Consulting. A gifted musician, he played multiple instruments, taught piano in high school, performed in jazz bands, and cherished his extensive music collection.
