Born Glachia Gloria Stephenson in Porus Manchester on the Sixteenth of May 1928, she was one of six children. With her death, they have all now passed away.
After the war, with labor shortages in the UK, the British government advertised and then welcomed immigrants to fill these vacancies. She thus migrated to England in 1955 and soon started to train as a nurse.
Quickly progressing she gained the qualification of State Registered Nurse. She would later go on to train as a midwife and became a State Certified Midwife. During this time she met and married Jonathan.
After hospital work, she switched to become an Industrial Nurse where she was in charge of the medical requirements of a large engineering company.
She and Jonathan later left for New York, where she worked as a nurse meanwhile studying at St. Joseph's College. She would later be awarded the Bachelor of Science degree which meant that she was now qualified to the latest American requirement for nurses, namely being a graduate of a recognized institution.
She would go on to work in Intensive Care medicine and private patient care until she moved to Florida to retire.
She is survived by her husband Jonathan and her son Neville, Nieces and Nephews.
