Gloria Viola Burrell, 91, was born in Crooked River, Jamaica to the late Ambrozine Ross and John Blake on July 23, 1933. She departed this earthly life on May 28, 2025.
Gloria served the community as a nurse for over 40 years in England and New York. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lovingly known as "Auntie G," she loved to crochet blankets for her closest loved ones.
She received her secondary education from West Indies College and Masters in Business Administration from St. Joseph in Patchogue, New York.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory her husband Alfred Burrell, daughter Deborah, sons Peter, Robert, and David (Rubi), grandchildren Chadé, Michael, Kayleigh, Colin, Lindsay, Blake, Aleigha, Nyah, Courtney, Taylor, Seven, sisters Cynthia (Les), Camelita, Sonya, brother Basil, long-time close friend and sister-in-law Millie, 13 great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Highland Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Apopka, FL on Monday June 9th at 1pm, with the viewing starting at 11 am.
