Gregory Gilding

December 15, 1946 — November 14, 2020

Greg Gilding, loving father and grandfather, passed away after a long illness at the age of 73 on November 14, 2020, surrounded by family who cared for him until the end. Greg was born in California on December 15, 1946 to Kenneth and Jeanne Gilding and spent most of his childhood in Michigan before joining the U.S. Army as a young man. He spent most of his adult life in Florida and raised two daughters in the Orlando area.

A hard worker who was unafraid of challenges, Greg had a variety of occupations over the years and was a small business owner as well. Always ready with a smile and a joke, Greg cultivated many friendships and could always be counted on to help a friend in need. The hours he spent on the golf course with those friends were some of his most precious memories.

His six grandchildren were also a source of pleasure and pride, an extension of the love he felt for his two daughters. The quality of time he spent with all of them will certainly remain in our hearts forever. Perhaps the greatest gift he gave them was to not worry about things you cannot change and to accept life with humor and good will.

Greg is survived by his two daughters: Deanna (Jason) Mallett and Teresa (Robert) Young. In addition, six grandchildren: Audrey, Austin, Blake, Robert II, Taylor and Alexys. He is also survived by two brothers: Terrence (Jeanne) Gilding and Bryce (Amie) Gilding.
