Helen Marie Hall

Helen Marie Ferguson Hall, affectionately known to her family as Mom and Mammow, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2026. She leaves behind three generations of a loving family who will miss her deeply and carry her memory with them always.

Helen was born in rural Kentucky on September 24, 1940. A trailblazer for her time, she left Kentucky as a very young woman and accompanied her beloved husband, Jimmie Sr., to Orlando, Florida, where they built a beautiful life and a lasting family legacy together. Their family began with their daughter, Carol, followed by their son, Jimmie Jr.

Helen's children later blessed her with three grandchildren: Bryan Gillan, Alexander Hall, and Stephanie (Hall) Thieman. Helen and Jimmie delighted in spoiling their grandchildren and creating treasured memories with them on the family farm in Sanford, Florida. Endless summer days were spent swimming, fishing, gardening, enjoying fresh fruit, and caring for the farm animals. These experiences offered her grandchildren a glimpse into the childhood enjoyed by Carol and Jimmie Jr., who grew up riding horses and raising cows and chickens.

When her grandchildren made her a great-grandmother, Mammow welcomed the next generation with the same love, care, and attention she had given those before them. She took great joy in watching her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren grow.

Helen's devotion to her family made her the heart of the family and its trusted sounding board. She loved being "in the know" about all family matters and was always ready to help in any way she could. She offered a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, honest advice, and unwavering support. Her smile could light up a room, and the hint of mischief behind it often left everyone wondering what she might be thinking.

Helen loved gardening and she adored all things Elvis Presley. She was delighted whenever she saw an Elvis impersonator-something she enjoyed often in her later years while accompanying her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Joe, to the VFW or Moose Lodge. She loved to dance and was always ready for a good time with family and her many friends. In her final years, Helen shared an especially strong bond with her beloved dog, Bandit. Leaving him alone, even for a few hours, was never easy for her, but she continued to enjoy time with the people she loved.

Helen was many things to many people: a devoted wife, loving mother and mother-in-law, cherished Mammow, proud great-grandmother, trusted confidante, and dear friend. She was a remarkably classy lady whose warmth, strength, humor, and generous spirit enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate, Jimmie Sr., who passed away four years ago, shortly before what would have been their 68th wedding anniversary. May they now rest peacefully together.
