Henry (Hank) Joseph Lageman, 75, of Longwood, Florida, passed from this life into the hands of our Lord on July 30, 2023. Born on June 28, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, Hank was the beloved son of John and Anna Marie Lageman, who preceded him in death.

Hank was a man of exceptional character and unwavering integrity. His dedication of service and sacrifice helped him excel in all areas of life: as a petty officer in the US Navy, as a lifelong learner and as a family man. He had a strong work ethic, and a deep desire to help others.

After high school, he proudly served in the US Navy and become an Aviation Electronics Technician. He further pursued his education at San Jose State, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Additionally, he earned a master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Wisconsin.

In his career as a Vocational Evaluator, Hank dedicated his career to assisting injured workers and individuals in developing vocational goals and retraining options. He went above and beyond to help his clients discover and pursue their vocational potential. Hank's expertise was highly regarded by experts in his field. He held various professional positions and received awards and accolades from his profession. Hank's philosophy and can-do spirit resonated throughout all of his responsibilities.

Hank was dedicated to service in his church life also. He assisted the leadership with achieving their goals and making many friends along the way. His devotion to his faith was an essential aspect of his character.

In his early years, Hank enjoyed playing tennis, scuba diving, cross country skiing, and traveling. He was an incessant tinkerer and a lifelong learner who cherished creating lasting memories for his family and loved ones.

Hank leaves behind his loving wife, Sue Lageman, and his children, Jeffrey Overcash, Sam (Eila) Overcash, and Amy (Bill) Powell. He was a loving grandpa to Billy Powell, Emma Powell, and Liliana Overcash. Hank is also survived by his siblings: Mary Lu Lageman, Frank (Judy) Lageman, Therese (Hugh) Buck, Gerry (Kathy) Lageman, and Cecilia Lageman, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Interment with military honors will take place on September 23rd at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, OH 43137 following a chapel prayer service at 11am.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans or the American Cancer Society.

May Hank’s soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
