Holbert Hoose

Mr. Holbert Eyone "Van" Van Hoose, age 93, of New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018. Mr. Van Hoose was born June 16, 1925 in Patrick, Kentucky. He worked as a Superintendent for Orlando Utilities Commission until his retirement. Mr. Van Hoose was a Master Mason, Lifetime member of the Ambassador's Club as a Team Captain for the Orlando Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the 1975 Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival and the first to introduce live musical entertainment to the festival. One of the acts that year was "The Charlie Daniels Band". Appointed as a Kentucky Colonel from the Office of the Governor, Frankfurt, Kentucky and member of the Alumni Association of The University of North Carolina. Mr Van Hoose was predeceased by his wife, Margaret K. Van Hoose and daughter, Dorothy A. Spencer. He is survived by his son, Ronald B. Van Hoose and his wife, Marti of Winter Springs, FL.; daughter, Kathy J. Underwood and her husband Gary D. Underwood (now deceased 7-1-18) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandchildren, Mark T. Spencer of Alaska, William Van Spencer and wife, Jaina of Georgia, Rebecca Field and husband, Jeff of Florida and Jeremy B. Sloan of Florida. Great Grandchildren, Stacie Spencer of Arizona, Raquel Spencer of Georgia and Justin Spencer of Georgia.
