James George

James (Jim) George, 88, a beloved Husband, Father, and Son, was called to his eternal resting place on June 8, 2023. He entered this world on April 16, 1935, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Galen and Lois [Ickes] George. Jim was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University class of 1967, where he studied Electrical Engineering. His career began in Columbus, Ohio, and later led him to the Orlando, Florida area.

Jim was not only a dedicated professional but also a highly skilled woodworker, creating numerous cherished pieces of furniture and cabinetry. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in each intricate detail. Beyond woodworking, Jim found joy in traveling the world and exploring on two wheels, whether it be on a scooter or a bicycle. One of his proudest achievements was completing a cross-country bicycle trip to commemorate his 70th birthday.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary [Havens] George, and their sons Jeffrey [Rosemary] George of Apopka, FL, David [Judi] George of Clermont, FL, Patrick George of Winter Springs, FL, and Phillip [Tara] George of Altamonte Springs, FL. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughter, Alexandra George of Orlando, FL.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on July 16, allowing family, friends, and loved ones to gather together and honor his memory. During this time, we will reflect on the beautiful moments he shared, the lasting impact he had on those around him, and the legacy he leaves behind.

In our hearts and memories, Jim will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, a skilled artisan, an adventurer, and a cherished friend. May he rest in peace, knowing the love and admiration he inspired will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
