Lois West-Closser, 80, passed peacefully on December 19, 2021. In the words of her 4 year old great grandson Ethan, "Heaven came down and took Meemaw home today". Lois, which most of us knew her as Meemaw, was born on August 27, 1941 in Bangor, ME. Born to Reginald Joseph Taylor and Geraldine Louise Taylor. Meemaw was a wonderfully kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to everyone who came into her life. She was married to George Ernest West, and moved to Frederick MD., where they had Georgie, Lorie and Denise. They had many wonderful times, for more than 20 years. Life can be very cruel sometimes. aThis was no different for the West family. The eldest son Georgie, at age 13, was stricken with Reye's Syndrone, and tragically passed away. Lois was divorced in 1976 and she moved to Florida where her sister Lorraine and her husband Bob Lepage lived. She went on to have a great career in the insurance industry, and bought her own home in 1980. She met and married Franklin D. Closser, and spend more than 20 years with him before he passed away on July 27,2020.
She spent most of her retired days with family and friends enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also had been blessed to see a small part of the world. She visited Italy, Switzerland, Germany and New Zealand just to name a few. She always loved watching people. She left an impression on all of our hearts and her smile will be missed every day.
She is survived by daughters/husbands Lorie La Rosa and A.J. La Rosa, Denise Charron and Derrick Reynolds. Grandchildren: Raymon Charron and wife Kelly Charron, Tabatha Bruce and husband Ryan Bruce. Great Grandchildren: Hunter , Paisley , Kaydence , and Ethan Ray and sister-in-law Jenny Taylor.
Preceded by brothers Jackie, Johnny, Jimmy, Eddie and sister Lorraine. George West and Franklin Closser and son Georgie.
