Marion "Bud" Cornett passed away peacefully at age 81 on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, after a long illness. Bud was a decorated naval aviator in the US Navy. He served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1972.
Bud was a native of Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky and earned an undergraduate degree in Mathematics as well as an MBA in 1976.
Bud loved traveling and was blessed to travel all over Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Holy Land. Whoever met Bud loved him. His infectious laugh was contagious, and his sense of humor always made others laugh and feel at ease when interacting with him. Bud's true happiness was being married to his beautiful bride, Jo Ann, for 39 years. Their love was unconditional, and this was evident through their daily interaction.
Bud will be remembered as a genuine man who loved not only his wife, but the Lord Jesus Christ, and the United States of America.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Asbel and Jewell Cornett, his brother, Michael Cornett. Bud is survived by his wife Jo Ann Cornett, brothers Jack (Dee) Cornett, Randy Cornett, Daris Cornett, his sister Hettie Rea and many nieces and nephews. Bud's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Hospital. If you choose, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
