Mary Wilson

November 24, 1935 — May 20, 2025

Mary Ann Henry Wilson (née Carter), age 89, passed away peacefully on May 20th, 2025, in Winter Garden, Florida. Born on November 24, 1935, in Miami, Florida, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by her outgoing spirit and love for the outdoors.

Mary Ann was the daughter of Paul Wesley Carter and Mertie Clyde Carter. She grew up in a lively household alongside her brothers Ronald W. Carter, Robert L. Carter, Paul T. Carter, and Richard J. Carter. Her early years in Miami were filled with sunshine and activity-she developed a passion for swimming at a young age that reflected her energetic nature.

As an adult, Mary Ann discovered a deep love for golf. More than just a pastime, the game became one of her greatest joys. She not only played regularly but also excelled at it, embracing both the challenge and camaraderie it offered. Her enthusiasm for the sport was matched by her outgoing personality; she was known to light up any room-or fairway-with her presence.

Mary Ann was the proud wife of William R. Henry (predeceased) and later, William O. Wilson Jr. (predeceased) and mother of five children: William B. Henry, Wade C. Henry, Robert R. Henry, Charles F. Gibson (predeceased), and Terrie L. Hamrick (predeceased). Her devotion to her family remained steadfast throughout her life. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and found strength in their love through life's many seasons.

She is survived by her sons William B. Henry, Wade C. Henry, Robert R. Henry, and her brother Richard J. Carter. Their lives are a testament to the enduring bonds of family that Mary Ann held so dear.

Mary Ann's legacy is one of vitality and warmth-a woman who embraced life with open arms and an open heart. Whether gliding through water as a child or walking the greens as an adult golfer, she moved through life with grace and determination.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
