Patricia Anne Shivers, age 62, better known by family as Patty Anne, peacefully passed away on May 24th, 2025. Pat was born in Bayonne, NJ where she lived with her parents, Helen and Daniel, three brothers, John, Neil, and Danny and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Kathy. Her family spent many summers packing up the van, traveling across the United States or going to their mountain house in Pennsylvania. While she may not of known it at the time, she attended St. Andrew's Catholic grammar school with her future husband, Thomas Shivers. They officially met at the age of 16, when they worked together at Shop-Rite, close to where they lived. In 1986, they celebrated their love and married at St. Andrews Catholic Church. They welcomed their first daughter, Helen in 1991 and eventually moved to Old Bridge, NJ. Their family quickly grew as their second daughter, Taryn, was born 1993, followed by their son, Tommy, who was born in 1996. Pat and her beautiful family enjoyed many happy years in Old Bridge, NJ. Pat spent her professional carrier as a reregistered nurse at Bayonne Medical Center, where she cared for many patients. She went above and beyond for not only her family, but her patients too, always putting others before herself. She spent countless hours working on and off the clock, serving her community and taking care of others. Pat was also very involved in the St. Ambrose community on the parent board for her children's school, helping with many fun events throughout the years. She was also a wonderful girl scout troop leader, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends nearby. Pat and her husband Tom made a point to have many wonderful vacations for their children to look forward to; with many of these vacations bringing them down to Florida, where they would spend time at Disney. In 2010, Pat and her family made a permeant move down to Lake Mary, FL. During her time in Florida, Pat watched her children graduate high school and later on, college. Then in 2013, she became a grandma for the first time to a grandson named Rory. By the end of 2024, Pat had a total of six grandchildren: Rory, Teagan, Cassidy, twins Liam and Lucas, and the newest addition Amelia, filling her heart with love. Her grandkids loved to call her Em-ma. They enjoyed going on many trips to the movies, theme parks, pool days, and of course relaxing time at Em-ma and Pop pop's house. Pat adored her grandchildren and spoiled them every chance she could. In 2021 Pat learned she was battling fatty liver disease which eventually also turned into renal failure. With all these things happening, it caused a brain bleed that was unfortunately inoperable. During her last few days, she was surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren, where they reflected on all the unforgettable memories they created together. Pat is met in heaven by her parents, her sister, Mary Ellen, her brother, Neil, and mother-in-law, Kathleen. She leaves behind her loving husband, her three children, her son-in-law's, Ryan and Nick, her son's longtime girlfriend, Ashley, her brothers John and Danny, her sister, Kathy, and her 6 beautiful grandchildren; in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Pat's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched during her time on this earth. May she rest in peace.
