Though he only completed high school, he became a self-made man of remarkable intellect and vision - a truly accomplished businessman who mastered everything he touched. Meticulous, fiercely determined, and driven by an unmatched work ethic, he pursued excellence in all things and inspired it in everyone around him. He worked hard and played hard, living life with a passion few could match.
Pedro was a force of nature: a patriotic man who deeply loved freedom ​a​nd this country, a masterful deep-sea fisherman, a fearless free-lung diver, and a lover of ​all outdoor sports, art, ​good food, music and​ fine craftsmanship. But above all, ​Pedro was a man who loved deeply and protected his own with everything he had. Generous to his core, he sacrificed greatly to give his family the opportunities he never had​, and taught us that education is the one treasure no one can ever take away. He poured his heart into fatherhood - writing his daughter a poem​, it​ even won a contest and was​ later published in a book - revealing the tender, creative soul behind his powerful presence.
For ​close to 50 years, he was the love of Carmen Martinez's life - her rock, her partner, and​ one of her greatest blessing​s. Carmen misses him more deeply than words can express, cherishing every moment of their long journey together​. To Eva, he was far more than a father - he was a hero, a ​mentor, and ​her biggest cheerleader.
