Dr. Phu Thu Pham, 76, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on September 25, 2026.
An Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Pham spent over 45 years caring for patients in the Fairfax, Virginia community, including 24 years running his own private practice. He was widely respected by his colleagues for his strong work ethic and dedication to his practice.
Dr. Pham completed his undergraduate studies at Southeast Asia Union College in 1970 and earned his medical degree from the UERM College of Medicine in 1977. He went on to complete his medical internship at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore (1981-1982) and his Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University (1982-1984). Throughout his career, he stayed connected to his peers as a brother of the Beta Sigma Fraternity and an active member of the UERM Medical Alumni Association.
Outside of his practice, he liked to travel, explore new cultures, and take in the natural beauty of the world, seeing it as God's creation. He especially enjoyed visiting America's National Parks and always hoped to make it back to Yellowstone. The hymn "It Is Well with My Soul" was another favorite that deeply resonated with him throughout his life. He balanced that reserved nature with classic, corny humor that belonged squarely in the "dad joke" category.
Dr. Pham is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Nguyen-Pham, his children, Alexandre Pham, Gabrielle Pham-Che, Eddie Che, Nathaniel Pham, grandchildren, and his extended family.
