Robert Lumberry

Robert (Bob) Lumberry, 71, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on May 19, 2019. He entered this world on October 23, 1947 in Peoria, IL, born to Robert and Doris Lumberry. He is survived by his son David, brother James and sister-in-law Pam as well as two nieces Christine Roland and Sandra Lumberry. Robert served in the US Army as a Huey helicopter crew chief. Bob was a loving husband to Diane who preceded him in death in 2012. He was an awesome father to his only child David. Bob was always known as a happy person always having a kind word to others. Bob worked as a Winn Dixie store manager for 30 years then went on to become a store manager for West Marine, a boating supply store for 20 years. Bob has made many wonderful friends throughout his 71 years. Bob was passionate about drag racing, building his dream of a 10 second race car. His “Grey Ghost 1971 Ford Maverick was his play toy as an adult along with his best friend John Anderson they raced on the weekends and had a blast together. Bob suffered a massive heart attack early Saturday morning and was taken to Advent Hospital Fish Memorial in Orlando City. Bob passed away at 1:26 AM with his son by his side.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday May 24th 2019 at Highland Funeral Home located at 3329 East Semoran Blvd. Apopka, FL 32703. His viewing will be at 11am followed by a 12pm Funeral Service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
