Roger G. Kadlac passed away unexpectedly at home on January 1, 2024. He battled a variety of serious health issues over the past fifteen years but had been looking forward to 2024. Born on September 5, 1952 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he was 71 years old and a longtime resident of Orlando. Roger was predeceased by his brother David Kadlac of Kenosha and his parents, William Kadlac and Charlotte Ludwig Kadlac of Kenosha.
Roger was a talented artist in multiple mediums, majoring in Fine Arts at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and University of Central Florida. He was the first in his family to graduate college. His favorite mediums were painting and wood carving.
He worked as a horticulturist for commercial landscape maintenance firms. Later, he constructed aquatic habitats for cancer research. Roger possessed immense knowledge and skill in horticulture, including bonsai gardening and camellias.
His other interests included numismatics (coin collecting), cooking, camping, fishing and antique restoration. He loved visiting botanical gardens and art museums. Roger exposed his boys to different cultures and cuisines. They are both fabulous cooks. Roger always said that raising his two boys was his proudest accomplishment.
Roger is survived by his life partner Kane Boniec; two sons, Jason M. (Lady A.) Kadlac and Troy W. Kadlac; his former spouse Patricia Kadlac; and two grandchildren Gavin and Elena Kadlac.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 24 from 1:00-2:00 pm, with a celebration of Roger’s life following at 2:00pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd, Apopka, Florida 32703.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roger may be made to Central Florida Community Arts (cfcarts.com).
