Sadik Y. Wardeh was a man of faith, perseverance, and love.
He was born in Latakia, Syria, and from a young age learned what it meant to trust God through hardship. His life was shaped by suffering, loss, and long journeys, yet he never lost hope. He believed deeply that God had a purpose for every season of life.
In 1968, he left Syria and came to America with courage and faith, seeking a better future and guided by God’s hand. He devoted more than forty years of his life to teaching French and English at the University of Central Florida and Valencia College. Teaching was not just his profession — it was his calling.
Above all else, Sadik was a servant of Christ. His faith was not something he only spoke about — it was something he lived. He loved the Word of God, taught Bible studies, and encouraged others to live with purpose, integrity, and compassion. He often said that life is a journey, and that by turning to God, he found who he was and what he was living for.
Sadik was devoted to his family and to love. He was first married to his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared his children and built a life of faith and dedication. Later, he found love again with his second wife, Helen, whom he cherished deeply. He endured the painful loss of Helen a few years ago with the same faith that carried him through so many trials, trusting God even in grief.
He was a loving father and a source of wisdom, strength, and example for his family.
Sadik is survived by his three children: Michael Wardeh, Bethany Monde, and Daniel Wardeh;
and by his beloved grandchildren: Noelle Wardeh, Brian Wardeh, McClean Monde, Molly Monde, Noah Wardeh, Lyla Wardeh, and Annabel Wardeh.
Those who knew him remember his warm smile, his gentle spirit, and his constant encouragement. He believed that God is near, that God cares, and that even in storms, Christ brings peace.
Today, we honor a life well lived — a life of faith, service, teaching, and love. His journey that began in Syria and continued in America now leads him home to his Lord. We take comfort in knowing that nothing he did for Christ was ever wasted, and that his legacy lives on in his family, his students, and all who were blessed to know him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
