Sandra Kay Phend

Sandra Kay Phend, 75, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kelly W.
Phend, and her parents, William and Freda Price.

Sandra is lovingly survived by her sons, William Lee
Strickler and Joseph Ryan Strickler; her stepdaughters, Kandy Kolve and Angie Seichter; her stepson, Kyle Phend; her sister, Mary Lou Davis; and her brother, Kevin Price. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan Strickler, Dalton Strickler, Hunter Lange, and other cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Sandy considered her greatest blessings in life to be her family and friends. She was known for her loving heart, joyful spirit, and contagious laughter. Blessed with friendships too numerous to count, she treasured every relationship and considered each person a gift from God.

Although Florida became her home, her heart always held a special place for Ohio. She often dreamed of returning, even if only for a visit. Yet her love for her sons and family kept her close to them in Florida. Instead, she built what became affectionately known as her "telephone ministry." She spent countless hours on the phone sharing laughter, encouragement, and heartfelt conversations with family and friends. Those conversations brought her tremendous joy, and she cherished every moment. Afterwards, she would happily recount the latest hometown news to her sister, Mary Lou, and her brother, Kevin, making it feel as though everyone had been back home together again. Her cousin Jimmy lovingly referred to this cherished tradition as her "telephone ministry," a nickname that fit her perfectly.

Above all else, Sandy loved the Lord and treasured His Word. Nearly every day, she faithfully wrote down Bible verses that had encouraged, guided, and strengthened her through life's joys and challenges. She often said those Scriptures answered her questions, gave her peace, and carried her through difficult days. Her desire was to leave those treasured verses to her sons, believing they would provide the same comfort and wisdom throughout their own lives. She had begun preparing two small keepsake boxes-one for each son-to be given to them after she was called Home. Although she was unable to complete them, her family will lovingly fulfill that wish, ensuring her sons receive the precious spiritual "jewels" she intended to leave behind.

Sandy also cherished the years she shared with Kelly. Together they traveled the country, creating memories and embracing both life's celebrations and its challenges. Their love was steadfast, and she often said she wanted to rest beside Kelly in death, just as they had walked side by side throughout their life together.

Sandy's legacy is one of unwavering faith, unconditional love, generous friendship, and joyful conversation. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her kindness, wisdom, laughter, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
