Sharon Smith Swann

Sharon Smith Swann, age 70, of Clermont, FL passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022, after a hard-fought battle against cancer. Sharon was born on February 28, 1952, in Harriman, TN to Stanley and Elizabeth Smith who preceded her in death. Her childhood and formative years were spent in Cincinnati, OH and Pine Hills, FL where she graduated from Maynard Evans High School in 1970. She was most recently a resident of Summit Greens in Clermont, FL where she was the full-time caretaker of her mother, Elizabeth who passed away in 2015. Sharon worked in Telecommunications at Valencia Community College for 27 years retiring in 2007. During retirement she was an avid antique collector and always enjoyed the search for a bargain. Sharon is survived by her daughter Michelle and son-in-law Scott Thurmond and four grandchildren; Riley Puskas, Kaley Puskas, Colton Thurmond, and Corey Thurmond; Sister Kathy Briggs of Ashville, NC, Brothers Frank Smith of Plano, TX and Tracy Smith of Winter Garden, FL, seven nieces and nephews, many cousins and her beloved emotional support dog, Gizmo.
A memorial service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens - 3229 E. Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703 at 11:00am on September 9, 2022.
