Thelma Harris

August 11, 1935 — October 25, 2018

Thelma Lucille Jones Harris born on August 11, 1935, completed her life here on Earth on
October 25, 2018 in the early hours of the morning. She was preceded in death by her parents
George Jones and Virginia Jones and her husband Roy Harris.
Thelma has lived an exemplary life fulfilling scriptures such as running with perseverance the
race marked out for her and fighting the good fight, finishing the race and keeping the faith. She
has always been generous and put her friends and family first. Thelma has been quick to bring
joy to others. She could strike up a conversation and equally as fast make a new friend. She
loved to share her joy of shopping with others and would have enjoyed window shopping at the
Mall of America.
Whether shopping or relaxing at home with friends and family you would be delighted by her
sense of fashion, love of the color purple, her sweet tooth and genuine warmth and hospitality.
Thelma enjoyed pointing out her peacock decoration named Percy while speaking to you about
her "good day, bad day" reminding us we all have our ups and downs. She chose to focus on
the positive with a great sense of humor.
Thelma liked completing her own DIY projects and delighted in having events to look forward to
such as Sunday night dinners with her dear friends in the BRATS group. She also delighted in
encouraging others in their plans and dreams. Her final days were full of grace. Thelma, while
her family was busy bidding her goodnight and working to bring her comfort, was busy
confirming they were all going to be comfortable for the night. A nurse reported coming in to
cheer Thelma up and walked out stating Thelma had cheered her up.
Thelma achieved a painless, blameless and peaceful end as she passed away in her sleep.
Never wanting to see others saddened by life's circumstances, she asked that there be no
official service held for her. There are many ways you can honor her memory: wear something
purple, enjoy something sweet to eat while talking with a friend, go shopping, cheer someone up
or donate to a charity helping lady cancer patients rediscover their beauty online at
www.fullofhopefoundation.org or by mail at: Full of Hope Foundation, 1900 W. Chandler Blvd.,
Ste. 15-153, Chandler, AZ 85224.
