VIRGINIA IRENE LAMPARSKY (nee DACIEK) 12/5/1923 - 6/12/2023
Virginia Irene Lamparsky passed unexpectedly but peacefully into eternal life on Monday, June 12, 2023 at age 99 1/2, where she is reunited with her husband of 59 years, Joe Lamparsky Sr., her parents, sisters and brother, and her son Joseph, Jr. Virginia was born in Price Hill, West Virginia on December 5th, 1923. Her father, Joseph M. Daciek, had arrived in America from Poland in 1910, eventually marrying Lucille Shestock from Pocahontas, Virginia. They settled in West Virginia where Virginia, the oldest of 5 children, grew up a coal miner's daughter.
She had a simple, happy childhood, recounting memories of life with her two sisters and two brothers, in various "coal camps" until she was 18 years old. At that time, she moved north to Orange, N.J for better opportunities. When her father traveled to N.J. to bring her back to West Virginia, he found a better life there and moved the whole family to New Jersey.
Virginia met her husband, Joe Lamparsky, while working at the RCA in Harrison, N.J. They married in 1947 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Orange, N.J., settling in "The Valley" where they raised three children, Barbara Jo, Joseph Jr., and Elayne. Upon her husband's retirement, they traveled the country visiting 29 states before finally moving to Orlando, FL where Virginia lived for 45 years in College Park. Virginia was employed at an insurance company, was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, enjoyed her sweets, dancing, music, plays, dining out, crossword puzzles, detective novels, old movies, and was a whiz at Wheel of Fortune! She was a remarkable woman, vibrant until her last days, and will be surely missed by all who knew her. Virginia is survived by her daughter Barbara Jo L. Harwell and her husband Jeffrey, her younger daughter Elayne Parkes and her husband Anthony, her brother Michael R. Daciek of Colorado and his wife Joan, her sister-in-law Ruth Daciek, as well as nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and many neighbors and friends.
Virginia's visitation and funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4001 Edgewater Drive, Orlando FL 32804 on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. inside the Church entry lobby, followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon. A celebration reception will be held immediately after the service in the Church's Bishop Grady Hall.
Arrangements are being managed by Carey Hand/Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703.
