Walter Cevelin

Walter Cevelin, age 75, passed peacefully with family at his side on 5/25/2024.

Born 1/08/1949 East Orange, New Jersey to USAF Captain Ranger & Evelyn Cevelin. Walt spent his early years as an Air Force brat until his father's retirement to Orlando, Florida. There he developed a passion for collecting & preserving most, if not all, species of snakes known to Florida, that collection was later proudly donated to Cheney Elementary, East Orange, County; growing up Walt loved exploring the woods and stream that once was part of the local environment. Walt's additional passions included fishing, cars and gardening. Walt retired as a Master Printer having originally learning the trade at The Orlando Sentinel shortly after graduating from Colonial High School in 1968. He worked for several firms throughout his career.

Walt was predeceased by his parents, his soulmate Mariam Briggs, and his Nephew Benjamin F. Cevelin. Walt is survived by his sisters Patricia Walker, Judy (Alan) Pizzo, his brother Ben (Stephanie) Cevelin, his children Jason Cevelin, his daughter Jessica (Les) Wallace, and five grandchildren. A private celebration of life is planned. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to AdventHealth Hospice, Altamonte Springs, for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Van Andel Institute for Dementia Research.
