Emblem

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wilson E. Way, who departed this life on March 7, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on December 15, 1945, in Orlando, Florida, Wilson-known affectionately as Will-lived a life marked by dedication, service, and faith. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara Way, and a proud father to his daughter, Dawn Barton, and his sons, Keith and Spencer Way.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Wilson's service to his country was a true testament to his character, integrity, and values. He earned his bachelor's degree and began his professional career as a civilian with Foods for Life, where he advanced into management through diligence and hard work.

Wilson was later given the opportunity to manage his mother's health food store, Natural Way Foods, where he refined his leadership skills and gained valuable knowledge about healthy living and caring for the human body. This experience sparked a lasting interest in science and wellness.

He went on to pursue a career in chemistry to serve his community as Lab Manager for the City of Winter Park for 27 years. Through his expertise, professionalism, and commitment, Wilson made meaningful and lasting contributions to the city and to those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Above all, Wilson's greatest passion was sharing the message of his faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. His spiritual journey began as a young teenager, during which he studied many different belief systems, always questioning and seeking truth with sincerity and depth. He devoted countless hours to research, learning, and teaching, eventually developing comprehensive Bible studies. With a generous heart and a deep desire to help others, Wilson freely shared his knowledge with anyone willing to listen.

Wilson is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Way; his daughter, Dawn Barton; his son, Spencer Way; his sister, Flo Arnold (Bob); his nephew, Rob Arnold (Sandra); and his grandnieces, Alexandra and Jaclyn Arnold. He is also survived by his dear friend, James McCafferty‑Hanzel (Emily), along with several cousins, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Public Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL. from 2-3pm; followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 3pm. Wilson will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL. at the convenience of the family.

In remembrance of Wilson E. Way's remarkable life, we invite friends and family to join us in celebrating his memory. He touched the lives of many and will forever remain in our hearts.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.'"
