Winston Adolphus Wiggan

Pastor Winston Wiggan was a minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served for over 31 years.

He was born on November 23, 1938, on the island of Jamaica.

Winston became a Seventh-day Adventist in his early twenties and worked as a Law Enforcement Officer.

In 1966 God miraculously opened the way for him to migrate to the United States

While a member of the church in America, he functioned as a Bible Worker and later as an elder for a few years.

He decided to study to become a SDA minister after two of his caring pastors told him on two separate occasions a month apart that God had impressed them to tell him to become a minister.

In obedience to this heavenly directive, he entered Oakwood College in 1981 to study for the ministry and graduated in 1984 which was a full year ahead of the 4 year program.

He then returned to the Central Florida region and was active in various churches in the Orlando area.

In 1988 God used him to start the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church in historic Eatonville where the Seventh-day Adventists had unsuccessfully tried over the previous years to start a congregation.

Just four years later in 1992 God motivated Pastor Wiggan to start another congregation.

This became known as the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church located on Arundel Drive in Orlando.

Pastor Wiggan numerically grew the congregation, acquired the land and oversaw the construction of the sanctuary structure.

That congregation continues to be a strong, robust, growing congregation to the present time.

In 2008 Pastor Wiggan retired from the SDA organization and later began a new church under his leadership.

The church was named the Calvary Seventh Day Worship Center which he successfully pastored, nurtured and sustained the congregation with wisdom given him by God.

Pastor Wiggan retired from active work in 2023 due to declining health.

He passed away quietly and peaceably at his home on Tuesday August 11.

Pastor Wiggan is survived by Hyacinth, his wife of 48 years, three daughters and 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He is sleeping until his God awakens him for life in eternity.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 29th from 5pm - 7pm, at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Mount Olive Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3350 Clarcona Road, Apopka FL 32703.

Interment follows at the Highland Memorial Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703
