Carol Fadal

December 9, 1944 — August 12, 2021

Apopka, FL.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol Ann Fadal of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021, with loved ones by her side.

Carol will be dearly missed by family and friends alike, who knew fully her zest for life, love of Christ, devotion to family and indomitable spirit. Carol's personality was truly one of a kind.

Born in Foley, Alabama on December 9, 1944 to Frances and Robert Underwood, Carol enjoyed being the youngest of four sisters. She spent her childhood running the hills and fields of Alabama, climbing trees and driving pick up trucks. Her young years were active and free and found her loving her family and church community immensely.

Carol was always a beautiful person inside and out and deeply intelligent. Carol graduated Foley High School in 1962 where she was on the Pep Squad, honored as Homecoming Queen and President of the Debate Club which is a talent she nurtured throughout her life.

As a young adult, Carol moved to Pensacola, FL. She was married to John Clyde Jernigan in 1964 and they had two daughters, Julie Anne and Laura Marie.

Carol graduated from University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After raising her family, Carol embarked on her career path working in various positions during her business years. One noted position was executive manager for a large assisted living facility in Orlando. Later, as an independent contractor, Carol was a Waiver Support Coordinator for the State of Florida serving developmentally disabled adults and children and their families.

Additionally, Carol completed studies at two bible schools and took advantage of every bible study program available at churches she attended. Her personal library included over 300 Christian books she studied constantly. Carol traveled to Israel three times as she knew the importance of Israel in our Christian heritage.

In 1996, Carol married James (Jim) William Fadal, blending their two families into one beautiful whole. Over the years, Jim and Carol were members of Northland Church and avid followers of Charis Bible College and Christian International. They traveled widely to enjoy their faith and family.

As much as they enjoyed their travels, Jim and Carol were truly happy together at home, especially during the pandemic. During those months, they completed a 48 lesson Charis College, University of Healing course and enjoyed weekly zoom calls with family across the country.

Carol is survived by her husband of 26 years, James William Fadal of Apopka, and her two daughters, Julie Anne Jernigan and Laura Marie Jernigan; stepdaughter Tamsen Fadal; stepson Cristan Fadal and daughter in law Jennifer Fadal; seven grandchildren, Christina Marie Dixon, Lauren Nicole Dixon, John Liam Fishman, Gerald Matthew Dixon, Steven Blake Fishman, Emma Laura Fishman, and Sebastian James Fadal; two great grandchildren, Cleo Nicole Nogaki and Summer Marie Nemethy; and her three sisters and brother in law, Roberta Reynolds, Louise and George Wallace, and Rena Hollis.
