Demetrio Perdomo

Age 91 of Deltona, FL. & formerly of Apopka, FL.; passed away the morning of December 23, 2021. Born in Camaguey Cuba December 22, 1930, he lived in Costa Rica for some years, then lived in NY for many years prior to making his last home in Apopka, FL, and finally resided in Deltona, FL for the past two years.

Demetrio was a religious Roman Catholic man. For more than 25 years he was so well respected and dedicated his time to Walt Disney World in Catering Convention Services, where he met many celebrities. Kenny Rogers, the Mandrell Sisters, Mr. Eisner himself, and Jim Athanus, who was the Head Food/Beverage giving Demi many accolades for his work in Food/Beverages. Along with politicians, and other honorable individuals.

He is the beloved husband of the late Herlinda L. Pinerio Perdomo, who passed in 2001; dearest father of Monica Linda Perdomo of Cincinnati OH. who he adored with all his heart, (la nina linda) & Gilbert Ramirez of Orlando, FL who he did so much for and mentored; grandfather / Beach Papi of Sebastian P. Jacobs, Diego P. Jacobs, & Tatianna S. P. Jacobs, the Trio in which he enjoyed to spend time with during summers and so proud of each one of them. He is also survived by Damaris M. Adelantado Vargas married to Juan Carlos Vargas and their children Helen M. Vargas his godchild, & Christopher J. Vargas of Deltona, FL. The children were like his grandchildren as well. Along with Nilda Perez (mother of Damaris who cared about his well being as well).

He would always say he had his own system of doing things and no one needed to be meddling on how he accomplished things. Fascinated with numbers, such the accountant, never wanting to use a calculated just his mind. He was a good swimmer. Very much enjoyed swimming or floating in the water for hours at a time at the beach and walking along the beach as he liked to collect seashells. Collected classical coins, and even dabbled in playing the lottery, also loved to cook and create fresh dishes everyday (a chef in disguise) would dream of what delicious items to be purchased at the market daily. He was not even finished with his current meal, when he was already conjuring the next meal and making sure to serve the appropriate wine for that particular meal "A Wine Connoisseur. When he gathered with family or friends, he was always one for telling a whole strand of jokes, your were sure to laugh, how he could ever remember so many was amazing. Everyone was his partner, for he never knew a stranger and always ready to help anyway he could, for he has a heart of gold wanting everyone to be happy and simply live to the max, and quite appreciative. When his Niece Damaris came from Cuba in 2005, he sponsored her and her husband entering into America made sure that they felt good about making this their home and were welcomed, providing all he could for them to get settled in FL, for he thought of her not just as his niece but as his other daughter. The past two years since his stroke, she cared and for him dearly like her own father and so protective of him as well. He enjoyed to travel when he could. He was able to return to his home country Cuba along with his daughter in 2004 to visit after more than 45 years, and grateful for the trip. He lived a very fulfilling life and such a jolly fellow. If you were lucky to catch him in his jolly modes, well you might just get serenaded, so yes he loved music, and even tried to learn playing the piano in his later years. Everyone who he meet became friend.

A Graveside Memorial service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL. on Thursday January 20, 2022 at 11am. Once you enter the cemetery grounds, please follow the yellow arrows to Mr. Perdomo's gravesite.
