Winter Park, FL.

Dorothy Lillian Greenwald, 92, passed away on September 15, 2021. Born to George and Lillian Ankarlo, Dorothy entered this world on March 8, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her children Dennis Greenwald (Cynthia), Lois Gesell (Larry) and Paul Greenwald (June); her grandchildren Stephanie Shell, Eva Schwartz, Abel Greenwald, Ryan Gesell and Jonathan Strong; and her great-grandchildren Brandon, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Merrick, Isaac, Makayla, Cameron, Theo and Sam. She loved her two brothers, the Rev. George Ankarlo (deceased) and her surviving brother, Robert Ankarlo. She graduated from North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN where she met her beloved husband, Henry August Greenwald. They married on June 24, 1950 and raised their family in the midwest, settling in Taylorville, IL. During that time, he was ordained in the Assemblies of God denomination where he pastored several churches and taught 6th grade. Henry died on September 15, 1975 (same day) and she ultimately moved to Central Florida in 1980. Dorothy was fondly loved and respected for her deep faith and wisdom as the matriarch of our family. She had a sweet and gentle spirit, a winning smile and was a rich blessing to many. She was a woman of prayer, grace and optimism. Those who knew her will miss her deep spiritual contribution to their lives.
