James Shields

James "Jim" J. Shields was born in Chancey, Ohio, on December 29, 1934. He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 13, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Shields. He leaves behind his loving wife, Charlotte, of 63 years, his only son, Joseph "Joe" Stephen Shields and his wife, Sandy, and their grandchildren, J.J. Shields and his wife, Jessica, Jennifer Roshong, Michael Hurd and wife, Marie, and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brian, Corbin, Ryker, and a large extended family who love him dearly. Jim was a long-time member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 803 and retired at age 75 as Chief Plumbing Inspector for Reedy Creek Improvement District at Walt Disney World. Jim was a dedicated Christian and Bible teacher and scholar. He was a long-time friend of Open Door Baptist Church of Clermont. Jim was dedicated and loyal to all of his family and never met a stranger. He lived to lead people to the Lord. He leaves behind a great legacy to be carried on for generations. (And, he was an avid FSU Seminoles fan!)
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church, 17140 U.S. 27, Clermont, FL 34715.
