Lileath Perez

December 14, 1931 — November 6, 2020

Lileath Loretta Perez, affectionally known as Lilly, passed on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the age of 88.

Her life began on December 14, 1931 when she was born to the late Valda and Sylvanus Bennett in Kingston, Jamaica. She attended school at Providence School in Jamaica & later migrated to Nassau, Bahamas where she met and married Augustin Perez. She then made her way to the United States, living first in New York and working as a beautician, after graduating from the Paris-Bronx Beauty School in 1968. During her lifetime she also worked a number of other jobs, including work as a bank teller and a certified nursing assistant. She later settled in Florida, which remained her home until her passing.

Lilly was a woman of faith, passionate about her love for God and giving back to her community. She was a faithful member of her church, First Baptist of Apopka, for several years. She looked forward to attending service each Sunday, ready to begin each week with God’s word.

Lilly is survived by her two children, Richard Campbell and Carmelita Gyebi, a son in-law, Kingsley Gyebi and daughter-in law, Rafeleta Campbell, as well as six grandchildren: Nathaniel Perez, Joy Thomas, Amaris Gyebi, Amara Gyebi, Josh Gyebi and Richard Campbell and four great-grandchildren: Zanii Richardson, Zaire Richardson, Eliana Perez, and Elijah Perez. She is also survived by two brothers: Kensley and Keith Bennett and two sisters: Eula Bramwell and Vera Bennett, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lilly fulfilled her purpose on this earth and will be eternally remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a supportive sister, and a loyal friend and confidante. Her memory will never be forgotten, and she can never be replaced.

Lilly’s family thanks each person for their kind words, thoughts, prayers and support through this difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Highland Funeral Home at 3329 E Semoran Blvd. Apopka, FL 32703 with Pastor David Schorejs officiating.
