Norman Bessette

December 30, 1931 — March 24, 2022

Norman A Bessette, 90, of Orlando Florida passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 24, 2022. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife Geraldine who he was married to for over 60 years, his sister Rachel Guillette and his brother Roland Bessette.
Norman is survived by his three children, Tony Bessette, Julie Mealey, and Amy Bessette. He was a doting and proud grandfather to three boys, Alex, Brandon and Stephen. His grandchildren will always remember his big blue van pulling up on the weekends to attend their many little league games throughout the years, and of course always cheering them on.
After spending his childhood in the green mountains of Vermont, Norman served in the Army Infantry during the Korean War and was a recipient of a Bronze Star awarded for meritorious service in a combat zone. After an honorable discharge he, his parents and his new bride Geraldine settled on the warmer climate of Orlando, Florida in 1951.
Norman was a craftsman painter who found his calling working for Walt Disney World in 1980 and spent over 20 years working in the park until his retirement. He was always proud to walk his family and friends around the park and point out the many rides and attractions he pridefully painted and refurbished. Norman also believed in donating the gift of life and was one of the largest donors to the Orlando blood bank, donating well over 60 gallons in his lifetime.
