Lt Col Thomas Alexander Skipper III

God gives us exactly the right amount of time here, to fulfill our purpose, love others, and serve this world with a joyful heart. Some of us are afforded the opportunity for incredible adventures throughout this lifetime, to experience this world in a richer way.

Tom was born June 24, 1935, to parents Thomas Alexander Skipper II and Virginia Campbell Skipper. Embracing life and forging his own path, he earned a degree from the University of Miami, served in the US Air Force, married, and grew his family. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He retired from the US Air Force in 1980, having achieved the rank of Lt Colonel. Tom earned numerous awards and medals in his service, including the Silver Star for gallantry in action during a conflict in a foreign war; the Distinguished Flying Cross, medals for Acts of Heroism in Aerial Combat, Air Force Commendation medals, and the National Defense Service Medal (Eisenhower Award). Tom was stationed in many countries and all over the United States, and made memories around the world.

When those adventures come to an end, we are blessed by the gift... the promise of eternal life in a heavenly dwelling place. Healed, whole, restored; in a permanent residence of peace.

On July 21, 2022, at the age of 87, with his daughters by his side, Tom went to be with the Lord, rejoining his beloved late wife, Patricia (Pat) Ciesel Skipper.

Celebrating his life and legacy are children: Mary Turcotte (David), Ellen Woody (Tod), Darise Woerner (Robert), grandchildren: Christopher Pagello, Stasi Pagello, Teddy Morris, Katie Thornton, John Bartell, Rachel Novella, Jessa Pauline, and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. We thank you all for your kind words, prayers, and support.
